Why CEMP1 is a superior choice - CEMP1 is a maintenance system designed to be used by maintenance personnel. The design objective was to produce an application that would allow a maintenance manager to create a maintenance plan fine tuned specifically for each piece of equipment or facility resource that needs to be maintained. This plan can be built at whatever level of detail is required and scheduled and unscheduled tasks can be defined. Once the plan is built the system's "before the fact" repair order system is used to generate repair orders with the appropriate mix of scheduled and unscheduled repairs. These repair orders are worked, with parts and labor being consummed. The system then updates extensive cost and performance statistics which are used to modify the maintenance plan so as to improve performance. This new plan is automatically triggered by the "before the fact" repair order system thus closing the "plan, execute, feedback, modify plan", managment circle. Of course all of this is done with a minimum of administrative effort, since the target users are maintenance personnel with minimal tolerance for administrative chores.
In addition CEMP1 works with a specially designed Inventory System that allows the maintenance activity to freely and gracefully mix stocked or known part numbers with special or infrequently used parts purchased only for a specific repair.
