The system database lives on central host or "Virtual Server" and the map application runs on the user workstation. Unlike other school bus rouitng systems the Routing Wizard allows for multiple school districts to reside in a single database. This is a useful feature for contractors who want to leverage their routing expertise, or for county or state agencies that would like to provide central expert support for more than one school district. The user session is associated with one district at a time, or can be limited to only one district in the user security profile.
The system allows for students with multiple addresses, and students who attend multiple programs or special sessions. The system allows for multiple gaurdians with multiple contact numbers, as well as varied stops by day of the week and other features that accomodate the complexity encountered in student lives today. Student transport eligibility can be determined, walking distances to school bus stops can be automatically managed, student to stop assignment is automatically made. Stops can be dynamically created for door to door students, or for students that do not have an established school bus stop nearby.
Shuttles and consolidated routes can be supported. Routing and stop placement can be managed using graphic tools on the map and the database is automatically updated. Automatic graduation and route assignmnet is performed when the new school year starts. Routes can be automatically built to meet any bus loading parameter you set. Detail driving instructions and automatic stop time adjustments are performed when routes are modified.
You have complete control of map elements, allowing you to create hazard zones or highlight streets that should not be crossed, this can aids in making stop assignments that are appropriate and route adjustments improve student safety as well as maintain travel efficiency.
